The Centuries-old Garden and Grounds
The Centuries-old Garden and Grounds
Features include a range of boxwood topiary.
In the spring and summer, the flowerbeds are a riot of coloured ornamental plants.
Magestic trees like rare sophoras and sequoias, planted in the mid-19th century along with other species like oak, linden and horse chestnut, are a constant joy.
In May, a walk along the trellises and pergolas of our flowering old climbing roses is a fragrant and restorative experience.
The garden is a mix of organized and spontaneous areas. Flowering plants and bushes are interspersed with hundreds of rose bushes – English roses, old roses, sarmentose climbers, China, and wild roses – as well as hydrangeas, dahlias and peonies.
The Italian-style garden forms a backdrop to the greenhouse and our small private swimming pool, secluded by an old fruit tree orchard.
Here, every season offers its gift of different colours and fragrances.
Our grounds are inhabited by birds, squirrels, hares and roe deer that live undisturbed and quite used to our presence.
It is a pleasure to share with our guests the beauty nature offers throughout the year.
