Over the centuries, it has gone through wars, restorations and transformations, yet retained its charm and symbolic importance for the country.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1565\" data-end=\"1615\">The Parish Church of San Gaudenzio: a Romanesque jewel<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1617\" data-end=\"1962\">Next to the castle is the beautiful <strong data-start=\"1659\" data-end=\"1685\">Parish Church of San Gaudenzio<\/strong>, probably built in the 9th century and restored in Romanesque style in the 12th century.
