Lambrusco Festival in Castelvetro

Lambrusco Festival in Castelvetro: a toast to the flavours of Emilia

Tradition, taste and conviviality in the heart of the Modenese hills

Every year in June, the historic village of Castelvetro of Modena comes alive to celebrate one of the best-loved symbols of the Emilian winemaking tradition: the Lambrusco. Sparkling, intense, convivial. This red wine, known for its liveliness and popular soul, is the protagonist of the Lambrusco Festival, one of the most eagerly awaited events of the Emilian summer.

The festival is an opportunity to discover, taste and celebrate the many expressions of Lambrusco (Grasparossa, Sorbara, Salamino, etc.) directly in the places where it is born, among hills, vineyards and landscapes that look like paintings.

Castelvetro: a picture postcard village

Castelvetro is one of the most beautiful villages in the province of Modena, known for its perfectly preserved medieval centre, the crenellated towers and views of the hills dotted with vineyards.

During the Lambrusco Festival, the village is transformed into a large open-air lounge, with:

  • Food and wine stands with the best Lambrusco wines of the territory

  • Guided tastings by sommeliers and local producers

  • Gourmet pairings with PDO cold cuts, Parmesan cheese, tigelle and crescentine

  • Live music, shows and folklore re-enactments

  • Markets, workshops and cultural routes between wine and territory

Lambrusco & Balsamic Vinegar: the perfect couple

Emilian cuisine is made up of harmonious contrastsintense flavours, strong aromas. In this balance, two products stand out for tradition and character: the Lambrusco and theBalsamic Vinegar.

If the former is a symbol of conviviality and cheerfulness, the latter represents the elegance and slowness of traditional craftsmanship.

Matching ideas:

  • Tigelle with pink salami and drops of Borgo vinegar

  • Parmesan 30 monthswith a few drops of Balsamic vinegar and a glass of Grasparossa
