Pursuant to Article 13 of the EU Regulation No. 2016/679 on the protection of individuals and other subjects with regard to the processing of personal data, we would like to inform you about how we use your data, why we collect it, how we store it and your rights.

WHO WE ARE AND WHY WE PROCESS YOUR DATA

The personal data you give us are processed in full compliance with the regulations on the processing of personal data by The Borgo of Balsamico Società Agricola in limited partnership of Cristina and Silvia Crotti & C. with registered office in Albinea (RE) in via Chiesa 27 C.F. and VAT no. 02090800356 as Data Controller.

We produce and sell Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia P.D.O., Balsamic Vinegar of Modena P.G.I. and many other products related to this ancient tradition, we organise tours of the ancient vinegar cellar with tasting and offer B&B services in our 'Dimore del Borgo'.

In order to be able to offer our services and products, we need to collect your personal data in order to establish and perform contractual relationships, i.e. to make offers, process orders, supply requested products, process payments, but also to organise guided tours with tastings and to provide the B&B service at the "Dimore del Borgo" if you request these services as well. We need your contact details i.e. your email or telephone number in order to communicate with you about all your requests regarding our products and services.

We also need your data in order to fulfil our legal, tax and fiscal obligations under applicable law and to protect our legitimate interests (e.g. credit risk protection).

For these purposes, the provision of your data is necessary and obligatory and we may process them without your consent as without this data we cannot fulfil our contractual obligations towards you, fulfil our legal obligations or protect our interests.

In order to send you promotional offers by e-mail or to recommend new products or to measure your satisfaction with the quality of our products, we need your explicit consent.

In order to take the best possible care of you during your stay at the "Dimore del Borgo", should you have special dietary needs, we need to collect some of your health data (e.g. allergies, intolerances). Since these data are 'special' in that they are sensitive, we need your consent to collect and process them.

The content and services offered on ilborgodelbalsamico.it, hereinafter referred to as THIS SITE, are provided only to those who explicitly request them, and in the various sections where we collect personal data, specific information is published in accordance with Article 13 of EU Regulation 2016/679, hereinafter referred to as GDPR, for your acknowledgement prior to the provision of the requested data.

HOW WE COLLECT AND PROCESS YOUR DATA

You provide us with your details when you communicate with us by phone, e-mail or via our website, ask us for a quote or place an order or reservation for a visit to the vinegar works or to stay at the 'Dimore del Borgo'.

The data you provide us with are personal identification data such as your name and surname, date and place of birth, tax code and/or VAT number, contact details such as your address, your telephone number, your e-mail address and other data such as bank/postal information for payments or the names and addresses of recipients of orders if different from the person executing the order.

Your data are processed by computer and manually only by authorised and trained persons and exclusively for the purposes for which they are collected.

WITH WHOM WE CAN SHARE YOUR DATA

Your personal data will never be disclosed and will not be communicated without your explicit consent, except for compulsory and necessary communications that may entail the transfer of such data to public bodies and organisations or local authorities, to consultants or to other parties in order to fulfil all the obligations imposed on us by current legislation.

In fact, we use third parties who carry out technical (e.g. e-commerce website management, hardware and software maintenance, electronic communication services), logistical (e.g. product delivery/shipping, premises cleaning) and other activities on our behalf (e.g. administrative, accounting, tax and fiscal fulfilments, management of collections, payments, protection of contractual rights, credit recovery).

These service providers, which you can find out about by asking us for a list by e-mail, only have access to personal identification data that is necessary for the performance of their specific activities and cannot process data they learn about for any other purpose. Furthermore, these third parties are obliged to process the personal data they become aware of in compliance with all applicable data protection regulations.

OUR E-MAILS

When you allow us to use your e-mail address to send you information about our activities and/or commercial offers on our products, you will receive a periodic e-mail which is handled for us by MailChimp, a company based in the United States of America which operates under the Privacy Shield protecting your personal data. You can decide at any time to stop receiving e-mails from us by revoking your consent by clicking on the appropriate link at the bottom of the e-mail we send you, after which you will no longer receive e-mails from us.

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

We process and store your personal data for as long as is necessary to make offers, process orders, supply requested products, process payments, communicate with you about your requests for as long as is required by applicable law in order to fulfil our legal, tax and accounting obligations. Should it be necessary to keep the data for a period longer than the time period indicated by the regulations in force (generally 10 years), further storage will take place by limiting access to the data only to our legal representative.

When you allow us to process your personal data to send you information and/or commercial offers on our products, once you revoke your consent, we will cease any further processing of your data for that specific purpose.

All health data relating to intolerances or allegiances are immediately destroyed after the end of the stay at the 'Dimore del Borgo' as they are only managed in paper form.

Data on credit cards used for payment are not stored in any way.

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA

We inform you that at all timesyou can exercise your right to:

request confirmation of the existence or non-existence of your personal data in our files;
obtain information about the purposes of the processing, the categories of personal data, the list of recipients to whom your personal data have been or will be disclosed and, where possible, the storage period;
request access to your personal data, obtain rectification and deletion of your personal data when possible;
obtain restriction of processing in certain cases;
obtain portability of the data, i.e. receive them from us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and transmit them to another data controller without hindrance;
object to the processing at any time and also in the case of processing for direct marketing purposes;
revoke consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent given before revocation;

You can always lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority, i.e. the Garante per la Protezione dei dati personali (Italian Data Protection Authority), in the manner defined on the Garante's website www.garanteprivacy.it.
