Le dimore del Borgo

Welcome to our Guesthouse, Le Dimore del Borgo. We invite you to be part of an age-old tradition where hospitality has always been a priority.
Take time out to savour this magical place imbued with the peace and tranquillity of nature’s unchanging rhythms.
Our listed historic country house has seven guest rooms, each reflecting our family traditions.

Our values are rooted in the silence, space and slow pace of the countryside.

The silence of the countryside. The slow pace of ancient farming practices, and the space of an Italian-style garden set in huge grounds where our guests can walk and enjoy the wild flowers, and perhaps catch a glimpse of a hare or roe deer.

Il Borgo del Balsamico has welcomed guests from all over the world.

Our Guest Rooms

The guest rooms of Le Dimore del Borgo welcome visitors who come to savour our beautiful countryside and the ancient peasant traditions that have produced the famous Balsamic Vinegar that has graced the table of kings.
Each room has been designed with the utmost care. A mix of ancient and modern furniture and fittings, they speak of who we are and how we live.

Our Borgo guest rooms are each as different and unique as you are.

Services included in the prize of a guest room: breakfast on the guesthouse portico looking out onto the garden; a guided tour of the Acetaia to learn how balsamic vinegar is produced.
During the summer, visitors can enjoy the wonderful garden and use the swimming pool.
Free Wi-fi is available throughout the house.

La Piccolina is the only bedroom with twin beds. South-facing, the room enjoys marvellous views over the grounds.
The large mirror on the front wall is flanked by two beautiful 20th century drawings by Italian artists. La Piccolina has a large private bathroom along the corridor.

B. Cortina

Entirely furnished with antique pieces from Cadore, our ensuite Cortina bedroom reflects our love of the Dolomites.

C. Glicine

Located on the east side of the Guest House Le Dimore, this apartment has views of the swimming pool and Italian garden.
The main bedroom is part of a huge room with a fireplace and with splendid views over the grounds.

A. Dark Lady

The Dark Lady is an extremely beautiful, fragrant, multi-petal rose of an intense crimson colour.
Our guest room of the same name has two double bedrooms connected by a long corridor.

Our Gertrude Jekyll room is named after one of the most popular English roses, but is especially a tribute to the famous English garden designer, horticulturist and writer of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

C. Dalia

A suite for travellers, readers, music lovers and dreamers.
This book-lined suite has a large welcoming fireplace. The bed was custom-made from the wood of a 17th century coffered ceiling.

The Centuries-old Garden and Grounds

Dating back to the 18th century, the Villa and Guesthouse (Le Dimore del Borgo) stand in large grounds laid out in the 19th century.

Features include a range of boxwood topiary.

In the spring and summer, the flowerbeds are a riot of coloured ornamental plants.

Magestic trees like rare sophoras and sequoias, planted in the mid-19th century along with other species like oak, linden and horse chestnut, are a constant joy.

In May, a walk along the trellises and pergolas of our flowering old climbing roses is a fragrant and restorative experience.

The garden is a mix of organized and spontaneous areas. Flowering plants and bushes are interspersed with hundreds of rose bushes – English roses, old roses, sarmentose climbers, China, and wild roses – as well as hydrangeas, dahlias and peonies.

The Italian-style garden forms a backdrop to the greenhouse and our small private swimming pool, secluded by an old fruit tree orchard.
