A soft torrore covered with dark chocolate and, inside, a heart of pandispagna dipped in balsamic. A small handmade production by Maestro Catarruozzolo of Grottaminarda for the Borgo of Balsamic.
I remember when I first contacted Maestro Catarruozzolo he was sceptical about my request to create a variant with balsamic vinegar for a super traditional dessert like spantorrone, made with ingredients from the confectionery tradition of the province of Avellino.
But after the first try, he too fell in love with this perfect combination: the acidity of the balsamic gently extinguishing the sweetness of the stringy nougat, and the chocolate coating closing this sweet-and-sour journey with a delicate dark note.
Packaged in 30 g single portions and offered as a gift in the cylinder.
