Every year in September, the village of Reggiolo, in provincia di Reggio Emilia, si colora d’arancio per celebrare uno dei frutti simbolo dell’autunno: la pumpkin. La Pumpkin Festival è un evento amato da residenti e turisti, che fonde tradizione contadina, sapori autentici e convivialità, nel cuore della Pianura Padana.

Tra stand gastronomici, mercatini, spettacoli e laboratori per tutte le età, la zucca è regina indiscussa: in ogni piatto, decorazione e profumo.

La pumpkin è una pianta che affonda le sue radici nella storia agricola dell’uomo. Coltivata già oltre 10.000 anni fa in America centrale, è arrivata in Europa nel XVI secolo, trovando in Emilia-Romagna fertile ground to become the protagonist of many popular recipes.

Rich in vitamins, fibre and antioxidants, la zucca è un alimento versatile, perfetto per piatti dolci e salati. In cucina, ogni parte della zucca può essere valorizzata: polpa, semi, buccia, fiori.
