Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman "Good Omens"

My choice fell on Terry Pratchett's book, written by him in collaboration with Neil Gaiman – "Good omens" or "Good Omens", which the world saw back in 1990.

Well, to say that I liked the book is to say nothing. The problems started from the moment I thought about writing about why I actually liked it and at the same time doing without retelling the plot.

People writing reviews respond: "Why are you spoiling the whole buzz?" Why is it necessary to sort out the entire narrative point by point, which gives you the incomparable feeling that you have already read the book, which means there is no point in reading it in full?

This is especially true for books that are far from business topics or from classical literature, which you must read, because it is necessary!

We all remember school, don't we?

In general, I chose the book "Good Omens" practically by the method of "scientific poking" without answering the obligatory answer to the question: "Why?", so to unload the brain.

But I didn't know that this book was a kind of mix of almost all classic plots, such an ordinary, one might say, somewhat worn–out confrontation between Good and Evil.

And at the same time able to take out the brain, and you won't even notice it, and provide a good mood for a few weeks without much effort on your part!

So, that's why I liked the book "Good Omens".

1. The joint work of the authors on one work is always a curious experiment, not only for the authors, but also for the readers.

And somehow it doesn't matter at all whether the result was successful in the end or not.

Maybe this is a subjective view, but it is in co-authorship that something elusive appears, revealing the creator from a new, hitherto unknown side. It's somewhat similar to what happens in the end when people form friendships or closer relationships.

You've probably noticed that when you're alone, it's not the same person when you're in the company of your girlfriend.

Well, this time was no exception, and the fact that the co-authors turned out to be real "mastodons" in the writing world only adds to the intrigue. Although I still haven't figured out exactly where Neil Gaiman is in this novel, Pratchett's style is unmistakable.

2. Neil Gaiman. And what? Apart from "Good Omens", which, as it turned out, was the first book he published, I did not read his creations, but I watched several film adaptations of his works, for example, the film "The Mirror Mask" (2005).
